August is the last breath before everything speeds up.
September through December is when the year gets serious — Q4, year-end goals, performance reviews, budget cycles, the final push on everything that was supposed to happen by December 31. For many of us, fall arrives like a wave, and we spend the next four months trying to stay on top of it rather than steering it.
August is the window to do something different. To pause before the pace accelerates and ask the question that tends to get lost once things get busy: Am I actually moving toward what I want? Or am I just moving?
That’s the conversation we’re having on August 19.
About This Session
Empower Hour is a free, monthly virtual gathering for gay and queer men of color. One hour of real conversation before the noise of the fall season kicks in.
This month’s theme: Alignment Before the Fall Push.
We’ll use this session to get intentional about the final stretch of the year. Not just productive — intentional. We’ll talk about what alignment actually feels like versus what busy feels like, how to enter fall with clarity instead of momentum alone, and how to protect what matters most when everything is competing for your attention.
