Why this exists
The Story Behind Off Leash
My name is Noris Chavarría. I’m an executive coach, community builder, and the founder of Bloom Social Club — a curated gathering space for gay and queer men of color across California.
Off Leash came from a simple observation: the best conversations I’ve had as a single gay man of color in this city didn’t happen at events. They happened in parks. On walks. When someone’s dog walked up to my dog and we had no choice but to talk.
Dogs break the performance. They give you a reason to approach a stranger. They make everyone in the park a little more themselves.
This is for single BIPOC gay and queer dog dads who moved to LA and are still looking for their people. The men building something and doing it alone. The men who know what community is supposed to feel like and haven’t found it yet.
Off Leash is a Bloom Social Club event. Intentional. Curated. Small on purpose. Every man in that park is there because someone thought carefully about whether they belong in that room.
