Building community gets harder with age. But it doesn’t have to.

Making friends used to be built into your life — school, sports, the dorm hallway. After 40, it doesn’t happen by accident anymore. You have to build it on purpose, and for gay and queer men of color, that’s its own layer of complexity.

This Empower Hour is a space to get honest about adult friendship — why it gets harder, what we’re actually craving, and what it looks like to build real connection at this stage of life instead of waiting for it to find you.

Expect: a grounding check-in, reflection on the friendships you have and the ones you’re missing, and real talk with community members navigating the same thing.
